Portabello Mushrooms stuffed with Bacon and Cheddar Cheese (Serve 4 - 5)
Ingredients:
1 Packet of Portabello Mushrooms (8-10 mushrooms)
1 1/2 slice of Kraft Singles Cheese
3 strips of streaky bacon
Method:
1) Cut off the centre stalk of each portabello mushroom
2) Cut the bacon into tiny bits ; then fry them without any oil for around 5 minutes until they are crisp and a little blackened at the sides.
3) Stuff the bacon bits equally into each portabello mushroom
4) Slice the cheese into tiny strips ; then cover each mushroom completely with cheese
5) Bake the mushrooms in the oven for 15 minutes @ 140 C (If you do not want too much juice from the mushrooms, bake it for 10 minutes @ 180 C.)
6) Best serve without any garnishes/sauces and as an appetizer
There! The receipe. When you eat it, you will taste a lot of Portabello-Bacon sauce rolling down your throat with a little tinge of cheese. It taste a little like a Cheesy-Bacon Pizza, excpt the pizza base would be a juicy portabello mushroom. Be prepared for a tissue ; the portabello mushroom gives off A LOT of juice.
